Beyond the Wooden Pathway to the Beach
On a hot summer day, I love to go to the beach. I look forward to dipping my feet in the cool ocean waters and then lying back on the fine white sands of the beach, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the sea.
I also love to walk on the beach. Some love to run. There is an array of footprints imprinted on the sand as memories of fun times on the beach.
Children are busy at play and building castles and other kinds of structures using sand, shells and water.
In the distance, a flock of pelicans fly around, diving whenever they spot an instance of catching their favorite fish.
As you sit on the beach and feel the ocean breeze touching your face, you close your eyes and listen to the sounds of the crashing waves, giggling children and seabirds. All of your stress and worries seem to float away with the sea.
Suddenly, the sun goes behind a cloud, and the beach, once glowing bright from the sun, turns gray and shadowed from one lonely storm cloud drifting above you.
But as soon as it clouded over, the sun pushed its way back out from behind the cloud, presenting you with the perfect sunny weather once again.
All of this, and more, awaits as you cross this wooden pathway to the beach.
