Reminded to stay flexible on travel days.
Heard winds were going to be picking up mid afternoon in Las Vegas, New Mexico so we decided to head out as early as possible to beat the winds.
The winds were starting to pick up the closer we got. We were ready to get off the road.
As we started approaching Las Vegas, some fires in the hills behind the city started coming into view.
When we were driving into the parking lot of Walmart, we noticed the lot was nearly empty with just a few RVs, a handful of cars, and law enforcement that was escorting them out. Walmart was closed because of an evacuation as the fires over the hills were being fueled by the winds
Back on the road to brave the increasing winds and find a safe place for the night.
Luckily the winds died down as we continued on down the highway, at least for a while.
A couple hours later, in a different state, shopping done. Dinner made and over. Watching the sun set over the storefront.
Thankful for Walmarts that provide a place for RVers to get off the road for the night.
