This hike in the Superstition Mountains changed our lives when we first hiked Siphon Draw 10 years ago. We were in the area on vacation for a week using my timeshare. On that vacation we hiked this same trail we hiked this weekend. Three things happened on that hike 10 years ago that changed our lives.
1. As we were climbing the mountain, we were passed by this older gentleman. A short time later was coming down the mountain. Brett stopped him and asked his age. He was 83. That day we decided we both loved hiking and vowed to making this part of our fitness plan so we can be in that kind of health at 83!
2. I wanted to take photos on that hike. When we got home, I asked a photographer friend what a good camera would be. I have upgraded cameras 3 times since then. I love photography!
3. The most influential thing that happened on that hike 10 years ago happened on the way down the hike when we saw the Lost Dutchman Campground. Brett wanted to drive through it on our way out. Seeing the RVs with this amazing view of the Superstition Mountains caused him to get bit by the RVing bug. Four years later, we sold everything and hit the road to live this life of freedom and adventure. #ilovemylife #rvlife #fulltimerv #ilovehiking #imagesbycheri #hellofreedom #travelphotography #landscapephotography #ilovephotography #superstitionmountains #siphonedrawtrail #lostdutchman #arizona #arizonahiking
