A sea of lavender…can you smell the fragrance?!?
Fall, actually mid summer, is in the air, and the lavender farmers are ready to harvest these beautiful flowers to be sold or processed for scents.
But before they do, Brett and I saw it best to visit the place and just enjoy the beautiful sight of rows of flowers.
I found a good spot to take this photo just behind the barn, as it not only showcased the sea of purple flowers but it also made good use of the barn and Mount Hood in the background.
The fields are organized into rows of lavender plants. It’s so enjoyable to walk in the middle, so easy to move around. All of the plants are teaming with fat harmless bumble bees that are in heaven with the abundance in the field.
If you are planning on visiting, the best time is from mid-June through July when the fields are in full bloom, as the season typically winds down in August.
Speaking of these wonderful flowers, did you know that Lavender is one of the best fragrances in the world, and is often used for relaxation?
This is also a popular spot for Instagrammers to get an amazing selfie!
