Rushing Waters

Rushing Waters: Lower Falls at Yellowstone

Majestic, magical and grand. These three words are what I use to describe the Lower Falls of Yellowstone River in the National Park.

This spectacular waterfall is part of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and showcases the park’s complex history and geology.

As I took out my camera to capture this wonderful picture, I took some time to appreciate how nature’s architecture is far beyond what man can imagine or build.

It is especially breathtaking to see the vastness of the forests and mountains surrounding the waterfalls.

The volume of water in the waterfalls varies due to the season. The peak is, of course, in spring and summer when the snow melts and brings new power to the waterfalls.

To get a glimpse of these natural wonders, there are a number of trails that you can take, but there are also roadside areas where you can get a good shot of the waterfalls.

Many of the trails have step grades or stairs, and there is a lot of vertical descent (and returning ascent), so be careful when going through them.

The Yellowstone waterfalls are a must-see for anyone looking to get a taste of nature and adventure. The best part is, the park can be visited all year round!

A true gem of nature and one that should be preserved for generations to come.
