Oh, Old and Faithful you are indeed! But nothing compares to the vivid Grand Prismatic Spring colors, which captivate every visitor with their stunning hues.
Brett and I have visited Yellowstone National Park a couple of times already. However, every new visit brings new wonders, especially when witnessing the Grand Prismatic Spring colors.
Take this shot of the Grand Prismatic Spring. Known to be the largest hot spring in the country, this prism-like water formation (hence the name) was one of the highlights of our trip to Yellowstone. The vibrant Grand Prismatic Spring colors enhance the entire experience.
You can just see how tiny the people and the trees are compared to the huge pool of hot water!
As for the multiple colors of the spring, this is a result of the microbes that inhabit the edges of its mineral-rich waters. Depending on the ratio of chlorophyll to carotenoids, the colors may change from time to time.
As you move from the edge to the center, the color changes to blue. This occurs because of the depth of the spring in the middle.
Indeed, even just staring at the beautiful Grand Prismatic Spring colors mesmerizes you. This is because of how they change if you are attentive enough.
This is one amazing sight, that if you have been to Yellowstone National Park, you may have witnessed for yourself.
Remember some of the magic of Yellowstone by hanging this gorgeous print in your home or office!
