We were checking out Artist Friday on the Lahaina boardwalk in Maui, when we walked into the DeRibeis Fine Art gallery and Brett sees a painting and says “ Wow, that’s Chris Cornell of Soundgarden in front of a Black Hole Sun. Awesome!” Not knowing the artist James Freeborne Welch was standing there hearing the whole thing. He and Brett talked for a half hour about all things NW rock and found out his favorite bands were Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. Brett told him Ann Wilson needs to own this. He allowed me to take this photo which is normally a no-no at a Gallery.
